Day 64 8th Saturday Weigh-in Back on Track

Last week's weight: 264
This week's weight: 259

5 lbs. dropped this week Total to Date: 29 lbs.

Sorry for the delay in posting this. But it was nothing but football all this weekend. So when I got home last night, after being at a morning game in Bridgewater and then a night game in Duxbury with a 2 hour break in between, all I could do was crash when I got home. I got up early yesterday and made sure I got my run in before leaving the house for the day. After getting the 0 last week. I really buckled down and refocused on the week. Especially since week 6 was a hard week. The week went well. I have a ton of pics to post and edit for football. I was very happy to see after my run and I weighed myself that I was 259. The week ahead gets a little harder now because it concentrates on sustained running. Only 2 weeks left of the 8 week program and then I concentrate on training for the Turkey Trot which has been posted at www.marathonsports.com to register. I am pretty confident that I will be able to do this now.

Here is the week ahead.

Day 57 39/365 Make way for the 'FRIDGE'

Make way for the fridge

Day 56 7th Saturday Weigh-in Good News and Bad News

Last week's weight: 264
This week's weight: 264

BIG FAT 0 lbs. dropped this week Total to Date: 24 lbs.

Well the good news is that I did not gain this week, but the bad news is that I did not lose anything either. So in a way it still is all good since I had a really crazy week between work, being sick, inconsistent eating and missing a run/walk day.

This week coming up the run/walk gets tougher but as always I am up to the challenge. Overall I am feeling pretty good up the running. After this morning I am up to the 20 minute run point. Tuesday it jumps to 25 minutes running. Yikes! But so far so good. This program has worked out pretty well in regards to easing me into running again and it has kept me pretty motivated (I was really disappointed when I missed Tuesday's run).

Here is the week ahead.

Week 6

Monday - Rest

Tuesday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Decrease your walking interval to 1 minute. Walk for 1 minute and jog for 5 minutes. If at any time you feel you are struggling, back off to the prior week or to a point at which you feel more comfortable. Remember, however, that you must push yourself a bit to make improvements.

Wednesday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Walk for 2 minutes and jog for 5 minutes.

Thursday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Walk for 1 minute and jog for 5 minutes.

Friday - Rest or cross train.

Saturday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Today, you will decrease your walking interval to 30 seconds. Walk for 30 seconds and jog for 5 minutes.

Sunday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Walk for 30 seconds and jog for 5 minutes.

Day 56 38/365 Drinks with the Boys?!?

Crazy week!?!?! Sick at the beginning, missed a workout, busy at work and missed a couple of posts because of it. Today was no different from the rest of the week. I got run/walk out of the way early today and did my weigh myself (will post shortly) , my son has his football weigh in, did some errands and when that was done it was 5 in the afternoon. Geez! Time is flying. Saw District 9 with some friends and it was just okay. Would have been better just on television. After the movie we headed over to Pizzeria Uno's to have drinks. None felt like having beer so we decided to get the girliest drinks on the menu we could find as a joke.

Day 54 37/365 Self portrait 1

This is me heading home from being at the disaster site at work all day installing some equipment. I do not recommend taking pictures while driving but I needed a snapshot for the day. Monday night I was up all night sick again and Tuesday just rested for the day to get better. So I missed Tuesday run/walk combo but was able to do Wednesdays run/walk because I finally felt better. But I will say I was still not feeling 100% but I did anyway because I needed to. Crazy week so far eating has been inconsistent because of work and the past few days. But I have not been overeating which is good and I have not been eating junk. Still staying close to nature in regards to food.

Day 51 36/365 Ghosts of Avedon

Still not feeling so great from yesterday but even though this was designated a rest day I did the run/walk from yesterday to make up for it. Don't know if that was a good idea but soldiered on. Anyway went to my cousin's new house for a family cookout. I brought my camera to snap some portraits I needed for a personal project I have been working on now for over a year. Still got a way to go with it. Anyway the picture above is of my father (father is on the right) and his brother. This is only picture I know of them together so it has a lot of meaning personally to me. They have an interesting story and maybe someday I can tell it.

Day 50 35/365 King Richards faire

Took the kids to King Richard's Faire today got my Turkey Leg and then an hour later rushed home and got sick. Because of this I missed my run for the day was not feeling to well. This is the last year we are going to this. Way to expensive to go for what it offers. To put it in perspective it was $90 for 2 adults 2 kids. Which just got you through the gate and paid for nothing other than that. Inside $75 for food and then the wife spent an additional $60 for the kids to play games. Not worth it.

Day 49 6th Saturday Weigh-in

Last week's weight: 267
This week's weight: 264

-3 lbs. dropped this week Total to Date: 24 lbs.

Awesome! I was expecting to have no weight loss or a gain this week because of being on the road last week until this past Tuesday afternoon. When I got home though, I refocused on my routine and pushed hard on the walk/run combo since the run portion was increasing to 5 minute intervals within each set. Got home from the wedding this morning at 1 and because today was weigh-in day I got up at 7:30. I then ran a few errands and went to Wompatuck to do today's walk/run combo on the Turkey Trot course. Today's interval saw a decrease in the walk time to 4 minutes and the run time staying at 5 minutes. I happy to say I did this with no problems and I am starting to look at next week's schedule, which is going to getting harder, but I am looking forward to the challenge. Below is the week ahead:

Week 5

Monday - Rest

Tuesday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. You will make another decrease in your walking interval today. Walk for 3 minutes and jog for 5 minutes.

Wednesday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Walk for 4 minutes and jog for 5 minutes.

Thursday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Walk for 3 minutes and jog for 5 minutes.

Friday - Rest or cross train.

Saturday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Decrease your walking interval to 2 minutes. Walk for 2 minutes and jog for 5 minutes.

Sunday - Walk/Jog for 30 minutes. Walk for 2 minutes and jog for 5 minutes.
